On their first project together pianist Mathias Halvorsen and percussionist Jan Martin Gismervik have created a new world of sound and logic grown from Bach’s Goldberg Variations. Drawing on experience with a wide range of styles and genres they developed their own compositional techniques for this album. Based in Oslo and Reykjavik, both artists are inescapably drawn to snow and bad weather.
